The Red Tail Hawks Of Kettering, Ohio

On March 26, 2012 I began watching a pair of Red Tail Hawks build a nest in a big cottonwood tree behind The Fraze Pavilion. They had three chicks & the first thing they saw when their heads popped up out of the nest was me & my camera.

The parents like to sit atop the cross of Christ United Methodist Church at Shroyer & Lincoln Park Blvd. across from Fairmont High School.

On my Facebook Page I have many photos of them.

I also have many of them on  iWitness7News Whio TV Dayton, Ohio Channel 7.

One of the fledglings had to be put to sleep as it had severe head trauma. The other two are hanging out with their parents at the police station radio comunication tower or the cross atop Christ United Methodist Church.

Kettering, Ohio is home to these beatiful raptors. They were here before the first settlers arrived.
This particular red tail hawk family has been in this particular area for many years now at the police station & government building Lincoln Park Commons.

The pond provides food for them in the form of birds, mice, chipmonks, squirrels, ducklings, goslings, insects, frogs, etc.
